By the information in the Interlake and local T.V. News in regards to the residents currently living at the
Outlaw it would seem that a better solution could be worked out.
The people living there (elderly, single mothers with children and families) need the
help of our elected officials, the developers and the community.
I see three things that are a roadblock to the housing situation.
1. Lack of affordable housing
2. Low income (living on disability, social security or low wage jobs)
3. Lack of transportation to be able to look for housing
I would think that a phased redevelopment could help relieve some of the housing problems by moving
a section out at a time, redevelop the section and then allowing the residences the opportunity to rent
again. By doing this not all would be displaced at one time giving the residents more time to find
housing. I do not want to see families living in a car or on the street. As elected officials, developers and
citizens of Kalispell we need to all do want we can to provide for the less fortunate in our community.
