A RESOLUTION DECLARING THAT NO PRIMARY ELECTION NEED BE HELD TO
QUALIFY CANDIDATES FOR THE CITY OFFICIALS ELECTION IN 1990.
WHEREAS, the. City of Kalispell is scheduled to hold a Special
City Officials Election on August 1, 1990, and
WHEREAS, a Special Primary City Officials Election has been
scheduled for June 5, 1990, and
WHEREAS, the time for filing the necessary documents announcing
candidacy for the election expired on March 22, 1990, and
WHEREAS, the number of candidates for any office exceeds twice
the number to be elected to office in no more than one-half of the
office: on the ballot, and
WHEREAS, the number of candidates in excess of twice the number
to be elected is not more than one for any office on the ballot, and
WHEREAS, a primary election, if held, would have no practical
affect and is not necessary for non -partisan elections.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
KALISPELL AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION I. That a primary election to qualify candidates
for the August 1., 1990 City election shall not be held.
SECTION II. That this Resolution is passed pursuant to
§13-14-115, M.C.A.
SECTION III. This Resolution shall take effect immediately
upon passage by the City Council and approval by the Mayor.
