A RESOLUTION SETTING A SPECIAL PRIMARY AND GENERAL ELECTION F04 THE
PURPOSE OF ELECTING THE COUMCIL CHAIRMAN (MAYOR) AND EIGHT (8) COUNCIL
PERSONS TO SERVE UNDER THE COUNCIL-MANAGER FORM OF GOVERNMENT.
WHE REAS, the electors of the City of Kalispell adopted a Council -
Manager form of government pursuant to §7-2-123, et seq, Montana Code
Annotated, on the 7th day of November, 1989, and
WHEREAS, pursuant to q7-3-160, M.C.A. the City Council of the
City of Kalispell is obligated to meet within Lwenty (20) days of
said election and set a special primary and general election to elect
new officers required by the new form of government.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OP
KALISPELL AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. That there is hereby scheduled a special primary
election, Ito qualified candidates, for eiqoit (8) council
persons, two (2) each from the four (4) Wards of the City
and a Chairperson (Mayor) elected at larqe, to be held on
June 5, 1990 in conjunction with the Flathead County primary
election.
SECTION 11. That there is hereby scheduled a special general
election on August 1, 1990 for the purpose of ele_ctirig
eight (8) council persons, two (2) each from the four Wards
of the City and a Cnairperson elected at large, to take
office under the Council-Managpr form of government at 10:00
A.M. sixty (60) days after the election.
SECTTON 111. This Resolution shall take effect immediately
upon passage and approval by the Mayor.
