A RESOLUTION SETTING A SPECIAL PRIMARY AND GENERAL ELECTION F04 THE
PURPOSE OF ELECTING THE COUNCIL CHAIRMAN (MAYOR) AND EIGHT (8) COUNCIL
PERSONS TO SERVE UNDER THE COUNCIL-MANAGER FORM OF GOVERNMENT.
WHEREAS, the electors of the City of Kalispell adopted a Council -
Manager form of government pursuant to §7-2-12:3, et. sec), Montana Code
Annotated, on the 7th day of November, 1989, and
WHEREAS, pursuant to §7-3-160, M.C.A. the City Council of the•
City of Kalispell is obligated to meet within twenty (20) days of
said election and set a special primary and general election to elect
new officers required by the new form of government.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE C.I`.CY OP
KALISPELL AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION I. That there is hereby scheduled a special primary
election, to qualified candidates, for eigoit (8) council
persons, two (2) each from the four (4) Wards of the City
and a Chairperson (Mayor) elected at large, to be held on
:Tune 5, 1990 in conjunction with the Flathead County primary
election.
SECTION II. That there is hereby scheduled a special general
election on August 1, 1990 far the purpose of elec:ti_rig
eight. (8) council persons, two (2) each from the. four Wards
of the City and a Chairperson elected at large, to take
office under the Council -Manages form of government at 10:00
A.M. sixty (tip?) days after the election.
sECTTON 111. This Resolution shall take effect immediately
upon passage and approval by the Mayor.
PASSED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF KALISPELL AND APPROVED UY
THE MAYOR THIS DAY OF NOVEMBER , 1989. 111
