Resolution 3907 - Change Parking Committee to Parking Advisory Boardr RESOLUTION NO. 3907 A RESOLUTION DECLARING THERE IS NO NEED FOR A PARKING COMMISSION FOR THE CITY OF KALISPELL, AS AUTHORIZED UNDER TITLE 7, CHAPTER 14, PART 46, M.C.A., DISSOLVING THE PARKING COMMISSION CREATED BY RESOLUTION NO. 2843, AND CREATING A PARKING ADVISORY BOARD, AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Kalispell created a Parking Commission pursuant to Title 7, Chapter 14, Part 46, M.C.A. on the 7th day of February, 1972, and WHEREAS, during its existence the Parking Commission has never acquired property or issued bonds in its name for the purpose of acquiring land or construction of parking facilities, and WHEREAS, that during its existence the Parking Commission had difficulty in retaining members on the Commission that are residents of the City of Kalispell, and WHEREAS, the Parking Commission, by letter dated August 9, 1989, requested that the City dissolve the Parking Commission and create a Parking Advisory Board upon which non-residents might serve. NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF KALISPELL AS FOLLOWS: SECTION I. That under the conditions set forth in §7-14-4616, M.C.A., there is no need for a Parking Commission in the City of Kalispell. SECTION II. That the Parking Commission created by Resolution No. 2843 is hereby dissolved. SECTION III. That there is hereby created a Parking Advisory Board to be appointed by and serve at the pleasure of the Mayor, in three year staggered terms, with the consent of the Council. SECTION IV. That the Parking Advisory Board herein created shall serve as an advisory board to the City Council and its members need not be residents of the City. SECTION V. This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon passage by the City Council and approval by the Mayor.
