A RESOLUTION DECLARING THAT NO PRIMARY ELECTION NEED BE HELD TO
QUALIFY CANDIDATES FOR THE CITY OFFICIALS ELECTION IN 1989.
WHEREAS, the City of Kalispell is scheduled to hold a City
Officials Election on November 7, 1989, and
WHEREAS, the time for filing the necessary documents announcing
candidacy for the election expired on June 29, 1989, and
WHEREAS, the number of candidates for any office up for election
exceeds twice the number to be elected to office in no more than
one-half of the offices on the ballot, and
WHEREAS, the number of candidates in excess of twice the number
to be elected is not more than one for any office on the ballot, and
WHEREAS, a primary election, if held, would have no practical
affect and is not necessary either for partisan or non -partisan
elections.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
KALISPELL AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION I. That a primary election to qualify candidates
for the November 7, 1989 City election shall not be held.
SECTION II. That this Resolution is passed pursuant to
§13-10-209 and 913--14-115, M.C.A.
SECTION III. This Resolution shall take effect immediately
upon passage by the City Council and approval by the Mayor.

THE MAYOR THIS 5th DAY OF JULY,.1989.
