RESOLUTION NO. 3828
A RESOLUTION ENDORSING ALARMS FOR LIFE, INC. AUTHORIZING CITY SUPPORT
BY OFFICERS AND EMPLOYEES, AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, a recent tragic fire in Kalispell has resulted in a
recognized serious need for smoke alarms in residences in Flathead
County, and
WHEREAS, Alarms for Life, Inc. is a private non-profit corporation
organized and existing under the laws of the State of Montana, and
WHEREAS, Alarms for Life, Inc. is to place at least one high
quality smoke alarm device into every dwelling in Flathead County,
and
WHEREAS, Alarms for Life, Inc. intends to accomplish its goal
through volunteer efforts and financial contributions, with no cost
being assessed against the beneficiaries of the program, and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Kalispell recognizes
Alarms for Life, Inc. as a vital community organization and supports
the placement of smoke alarms in all residences in Flathead County
free of charge.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
KALTSPELL AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. That the City Council of the City of Kalispell
completely endorses Alarms for Life, Inc. and their goal of
providing smoke alarms, free of charge, to all residents of
Flathead County.
SECTION IT. That City officers and employees are authorized
and encouraged to actively support Alarms for Life, Inc. in
achieving its goals.
SECTION 111. This Resolution shall take effect immediately
upon passage by the City Council and approval by the Mayor.
PASSED BY UNANIMOUS VOTE OF THE CITY COUNCIL AND APPROVED BY THE
MAYOR THIS 7TH DAY OF NOVEMBER, 1988.
