A RESOLUTION TO ALTER AND AMEND THE PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS OF
CONTRACT WITH
LHC, Inc. ON Woodland Sewer Project

WHEREAS, the City did, on November 6, 1986 enter into a

on the Woodland Sewer Project ; and
Project
WHEREAS, upon the advice and recommendation of
Dennis F. Carver who is the City's consultant and
Engineer or Architect
engineer on said project, certain changes and alterations of design
and specifications have been found necessary and adviseable and in
the best interests of the City; and said changes and alterations
could not have been necessarily for.seeable when the original design
and specifications were prepared on this phase of the
Woodland Sewer Project and said changes are contained in Exhibit
Project
A attached hereto and are by this reference made a part hereof;
and
WHEREAS, it appears in the best interests of the City to approve
said changes and alterations,
NOW THEREFORE, pursuant to the provisions of Section 7-5-4305(l)
MCA be it hereby resolved:
1. The alterations and modifications of the specifications and
plans of the contract between the City of Kalispell and
LHC, Inc, , dated _November 6 1986
Contractor
as set out in Exhibit A attached hereto, are hereby approved;
and

2. As soon as the price to be paid for said alterations and
modifications are agreed to in writing, signed by the contractor, as
hereby approved by the Council, this approval thereof shall be in
effect.
PASSED BY THE CITY COUNCIL AND APPROVED BY THE MAYOR OF THE CITY OF
KALISPELL THIS 19th DAY OF January 9 1987.

The following changes are hereby made to the Contract Documents:
Furnish and install 200 lineal feet of 8" PVC gravity sewer and one
4-foot diameter manhole with ring and cover. Extend contract time.
Justification: See Attached Justification
CHANGE TO CONTRACT PRICE
Original Contract Price: $249,707.00
Current contract, as adjusted by previous change orders: $249,707.00
The Contract Price due to this Change Order will be increased by
$4,064.89.
The new Contract Write due to this Change Order will be: .$253,771.89.
CHANGE TO CONTRACT TIME
The Contract Time will be increased by 60 WORKING days.
The date for completion of all work under the contract will be MAY 1,
1987.

To be effective, this order must be approved by the Owner if it change --

Request for Contract Time Extention Following Winter
Shut -Down Period of January 16, 1987 to Approximately
March 1, 1987
Dear Sir:
LHC, Inc., hereby requests a contract time extention of 60
working days following the above -referenced winter shut -down
period. The following is a construction schedule outlining
the remaining work to be completed during the contract
extention period:
CONSTRUCTION SCHEDULE
1} Complete 8" gravity and service line 18 days
2) Complete 6" force main 4 days
3) O'Neil property main extention (200
feet) and manhole 2 days
4) Paving 6 days
5) Clean-up and seeding 10 days
6) Lift Station 20 days
60 days
Estimated job completion: May 1, 1987

Request for Winter Shut -down
Dear Sir:
Regarding the above -referenced project, LHC, Inc., requests
a winter shut -down as of January 16, 1987, until approximately
March 1, 1987, for the following reasons:
1) Due to problems creating the S.I.D., the contract
award was delayed from October 6th to November 6, 1986.
This was a period of ideal weather conditions for
construction work and, according to data received
from Hungry Horse Dam officials, the water table
was 2.5 feet lower during October than November
and December. This was also the lowest water
level of the entire year; and,
2) November 9th, brought sub -zero temperature causing
24 inches of frost in the street requiring us to
rip before we can dig. We continued to rip until
the frost depth reached 3 feet at which depth ripping
is no longer possible.
