Gary Havens, Carrie Nelson and Mary Pat Murphy via Zoom.
2. Approval of minutes
Will wait for quorum
3. Treasurer's Report
• We will save discussion about the Financial Reports for next meeting with quorum.
• There was some general discussion about the Bibler Foundation Endowment interest
and boilers.
• Cate asked if anything on the heat registers needed fixed or cleaned when the boilers
were replaced. Registers on the first floor are the only ones that currently function. This
would be part of the bid.
4. Committee Reports:
Marketing
• Marketing Committee met and worked on the brick project anticipated expenses and
revenues. Diane requested an increase the sales price of the bricks. As there is not a
quorum present, it was decided to share the information and vote via email.
• Diane passed around a photo of the patio at Buffalo Hills that Mark Schickendantz
provided.
• The marketing committee worked with a local designer on creating a new Mansion logo
and narrowed the options down to a few finalists. The current Mansion logo was
created years ago and does not have a high resolution digital file available. This makes it
hard to work with on websites, etc. The new logo designs will work well online and
were presented to show how they would work in Full Color, Black & White, and the Text
Font Only instances. The logos will be shared via email to vote on as well.
• An additional design- The Conrad Buffalo stickers have been for sale in the Mansion Gift
Shop this summer. The Mansion did purchase the rights to this design.
5. Museum Director's Report:
Brit was not able to attend the meeting today, but shared her written report prior. Diane spoke
with Brit and shared that the Fairy Walks were going well and kids loved them. The Locals Day
Event hosted by the Mansion, Central School Museum and the Hockaday was very well
attended. Robert is starting to decorate for Halloween. The Mansion will be closed for tours
during the month of November to allow staff time to clean and decorate for Christmas.
Conrad Mansion Board Meeting
Sept 27, 2021
Email Vote
As the meeting on September 21St did not have a quorum, the following two items were emailed to
members on Sept. 27t" to vote on.
1. Brick Project: After reviewing the cost of materials, installation and engraving, the committee
recommends that we increase the price of the bricks to assure that our profit margins are
adequate. At the August board meeting the board approved to price the bricks at: 6x9" bricks -
$100 ea. 9x9" bricks - $200 ea.
We request approval to increase those prices to 60" - $150 ea; 90" - $250 ea. These prices
are comparable to other similar projects in the area.
The attached Brick Project PDF outlines the anticipated expenses and revenue for phase 1 and 2
of the brick project. The goal is to sell bricks for at least phase 1 and begin installation next
spring. Please reply to this email with your approval for the price increases.
RESPONSES (on Oct. 5, 2021) : 11 YES. 0 NO
2. Conrad Mansion logo: the mansion has been using the same logo for many years. Although the
logo is lovely a high resolution file is not available so we are unable to use it in print or digital
projects. We reviewed several design options and have selected the attached as our
recommendation to the board for approval. A logo has to work in color, black and white, as well
as text only for certain projects. We feel this logo reflects the style and integrity of the house
while providing a fresh new look. Please reply to this email with your response.
