RE: Support for approval of second reading — Ordinance 1866, amending sections of zoning rules for marijuana
dispensaries, cultivation, and manufacturing
Dear Mayor Johnson and Members of City Council:
On behalf of Glacier Bank, I'd like to express our support for the second reading of Ordinance 1866 as approved on first
reading at your meeting of October 4, 2021. This more restrictive version of the alternatives you considered which
provides 300-foot buffering requirements, administrative conditional use permits, and restricting uses to industrial
zones, is best suited to our community and business environment.
As one of the largest employers in Kalispell and the Flathead Valley that is actively working on recruiting businesses and
individuals to move here, it is apparent to us that minimizing the presence of marijuana operations should enhance the
success of these efforts.
Sincerely,
Mike Smith, President
Glacier Bank
