A RESOLUTION ADOPTING A RECORD DISPOSITION SCHEDULE, AUTHORIZING THE
CITY CLERK -TREASURER TO DISPOSE OF CERTAIN RECORDS IN ACCORDANCE WITH
THE MONTANA LOCAL GOVERNMENT RECORD DISPOSITION SCHEDULE AS PROMULGA,rED
BY THE MONTANA DEPARTMENT OF COMMERCE.
WHEREAS, Equipment and spa ce for 'records storage is limited; and
WHEREAS, Section 7-5-4124 MCA authorizes the disposal of records
by order of city or town councils or commissions with the approval of
the Department of Commerce; and
WHEREAS, approved disposition schedules which list records of several
city or town offices with -recommended retention periods have been
received from the Department of Commerce and Montana Historical Society.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
KALISPELL, MONTANA, AS FOLLOWS: I
SECTION 1. That tt�e Mo`ntana Records Disposition SchedCle as
promulgated by the Montana Department of Commerce and the
Montana Historical Society, attached hereto as Exhibit "All
and for purposes of this Resolution made a part hereof.
SECTION II. The City Clerk -Treasurer is authorized and
directed to dispose of City of Kalispell records only in
accordance with said schedule.
PASSED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF KALISPELL AND APPROVED BY
THE MAYOR THIS 16th DAY OF JUNE 1986.
