Resolution 3671 - Purchase of Lots 8-12, Block 55, Kalispell Original TownsiteRESOLUTION NO. 3671 A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASE OF LOTS 8, 9, 10, 11, AND 12 OF BLOCK 55, KALISPELL ORIGINAL FROM THE FIRST ,FEDERAL SAVINGSY BANK FOR $150,000.00 AND AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO ACCEPT SAID PRbPERTY ON BEHALF OF THE CITY OF KALISPELL. WHEREAS, the City of Kalispell by Ordinance No. 1065 passed on the 4th day of November, 1985, did designate certain projects within the Downtown Redevelopment Area as Urban Renewal Projects, and WHEREAS, one of the projects designated by Ordinance No. 1065 consisted of acquiring land and constructing parking lots for off-street parking within the area of the Kalispell Redevelopment Plan, and WHEREAS, First Federal Savings Bank (formerly First Federal Savings & Loan Association) owns certain real property within the Kalispell Redevelopment Area, and WHEREAS, the Parking Commission has forwarded to the City Council an offer from First Federal Savings Bank to sell certain real property, to -wit: Lots 8, 9, 10, 11, and 12, Block 55, Kalispell Original Townsite, for the sum of $150,000.00, and WHEREAS, the City Council after reviewing the offer made by First Federal Savings Bank deems it appropriate, pursuant to Ordinance No. 1065, and in the best interest of the Kalispell Redevelopment Plan, that the City accept the offer made by First Federal Savings Bank, and purchase the property to assure and enhance off-street parking opportunities in the Downtown Redevelopment Area. NOW AND THEREFORE, be it resolved by the City Council of the City of Kalispell as follows: SECTION I. That the Mayor is authorized and directed to purchase from First Federal Savings Bank Lots 8, 9, 10, 11 and 12, Block 55, Kalispell Original Townsite, for the amount of One Hundred and Fifty Thousand Dollars ($150,000.00). SECTION II. That the City Clerk -Treasurer is authorized and directed to pay in accordance with instruction from First Federal Savings Bank the sum of One Hundred and Fifty Thousand Dollars ($150,000.00) with funds properly appropriated under Ordinance No. 1065 and from the proceeds of the funds made available under Resolution No. 3626. SECTION III. That the City Attorney is authorized and directed to prepare any documents necessary to effect this Resolution and the Mayor is authorized and directed to accept and properly record on behalf of the City of Kalispell the deed to said property.
