Sept 7th City Council Meeting Public Comment from Erika DorringtonAimee Brunckhorst From: Erika Dorrington <EDorrington@dadco.com> Sent: Tuesday, September 7, 2021 9:43 AM To: Kalispell Meetings Public Comment Cc: citizens@fIatheadcitizens.org Subject: EXTERNAL Sept 7th City Council Meeting Dear City Council, As a resident of Kalispell I want to encourage the you, in your adoption of the Move 2040 Kalispell Area Transportation Plan, to support revitalizing Main Street by making it a three -lane road instead of making Downtown a thoroughfare for yet more traffic. Please also give greater priority in and around Kalispell to providing infrastructure for alternative forms of transportation -- walking, biking, ride sharing, and bus service as a way to decrease automobile congestion. Please also look at doing something about the traffic congestion on Whitefish Stage Rd and Reserve. There is no reason a parent should have to wait 15 minutes every morning to turn onto reserve after dropping their child off at school, Edgerton. This is a huge traffic concern and should be addressed immediately. Also, please put in turn signals (you already have the lanes built) for a protected left hand turn coming out of Target and Lowes. This causes major traffic congestion area and I see a near accident every time I am in the area. Traffic is going uphill and no one can see who is coming. And, this causes traffic congestion in the other parking lots, MacKenzie River, Starbucks, etc. This is unacceptable traffic flow and I really can't believe nothing has been done in the area to fix it. It would just take a new light with a protected left on each side of the road. Sincerely, Erika Dorrington D.A.
