Sept 7th City Council Meeting Public Comment from Nicole JamesAimee Brunckhorst From: User Name <nicole@sageandcedar.com> Sent: Monday, September 6, 2021 11:52 AM To: Kalispell Meetings Public Comment Cc: citizens@fIatheadcitizens.org Subject: EXTERNAL Sept 7th City Council Meeting Dear City Council, As a building/business owner of Kalispell I want to encourage you, in your adoption of the Move 2040 Kalispell Area Transportation Plan, to support revitalizing Main Street by making it a three -lane road instead of making Downtown a thoroughfare for yet more traffic. Please also give greater priority in and around Kalispell to providing infrastructure for alternative forms of transportation -- walking, biking, ride sharing, and bus service as a way to decrease automobile congestion. Downtown areas are a vital part of any community. The history of downtown Kalispell and its beautiful buildings, should be preserved and enjoyed by locals and visitors alike. You can't replace that history and not making downtown easily accessible and an enjoyable experience would be devastating to the future livelihood of the businesses and all that goes with making a town thrive. With the population growth and the natural traffic that goes with that, there's not a better time to look forward and envision what a great downtown Kalispell could have if proper planning is given for the future. Sincerely, Nicole James Sage & Cedar 214 Central Ave. Whitefish, MT 59937 https://gcc02.safeIinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.sageandced ar.com%2F&data =04%7CO1 %7Cabrunckhorst%40kalispell.com%7CO795169c712649349fe908d9715f171e%7C6219d736f71146359cbaff616a81b398 %7Cl%7CO%7C637666220632566606%7CUnknown%7CTWFpbGZsb3d8eyJWljoiMC4wLjAwMDAiLCJQljoiV2luMzliLCJBTiI 61k1haWwiLCJXVC16MnO%3D%7C3000&sdata=7fkBS99g6WrMt6sc%2BdnALOrYyLXiXxzTOXKNTtN2Smg%3D&r eserved=0 (406) 862-9411 (888) 863-9411 Fax: (406) 862-9177 Kalispell Store: 227 Main Street Kalispell, MT 59937 (406) 890-2299
