EXTERNAL Sept 7th City Council Meeting
Dear City Council,
As a resident of Flathead County who frequently uses the downtown Kalispell area, I want to encourage you, in your
adoption of the Move
2040 Kalispell Area Transportation Plan, to support revitalizing Main Street by making it a three -lane road instead of
making Downtown a thoroughfare for yet more traffic. Please also give greater priority in and around Kalispell to
providing infrastructure for alternative forms of transportation -- walking, biking, ride sharing, and bus service as a way
to decrease automobile congestion.
Bike and pedestrian friendly downtowns is the wave of the future. If Kalispell aspires to being a city of the future, and
not mired in the past, please make sure this new plan respects the long term goals of a more user friendly downtown.
Sincerely,
Gil Jordan & Kimberly Pinter
