08-10-21 Architectural Review Committee MinutesMINUTES ARCHITECTURAL REVIEW COMMITTEE DATE: Tuesday, August 10, 2021 @ 7:30 AM Kalispell City Hall, 201 1st Ave E MEMBERS PRESENT: Julia Pierrottet (Chair); John Hinchey; Sarah Turner; Cara Lemire; Robin Spear, Susanne Wigginton (Zoom) OTHERS PRESENT: City Staff – Rachel Ezell # Of Guests: 9 Hear the Public: None Approval of Minutes: Sarah moved to approve the July 27, 2021, minutes; Cara seconded (approved 5-0). New Business: Signs: Wendy’s – 520 E Idaho ; new freestanding sign – Sarah moved to approve with the condition that the sign base be painted gray to match the building; Robin seconded (approved 6-0). Atrium Cowork - 1205 S Main St; Freestanding sign modification and sign face replacement – John moved to approve; Robin seconded (approved 5-0). Buildings: Kalispell Tap and Games – 2400 Highway 93 S; arcade and tap house tenant improvement- Sarah moved to approve subject to ARC approval of the landscape plan; Robin seconded (approved 6- 0). Third Ave East Apartments – 2105 3rd Ave E; 48 unit apartment complex- Cara moved to approve with the condition that an accessible path is provided to at least one of the bbq patios per building, a couple taller evergreen shrubs are included in the landscape plan, and the looped path is striped by the trash enclosure for continuous ADA accessibility; Robin seconded (approved 5-0, Susanne was not present for vote). Old Business: Big Sky IV- 560 Cascade Loop ; remove screening around patio and HVAC units. Robin moved to approve the removal of the screening around the patio but required around the HVAC units; John seconded (5-0) PJs Rentals- 801 E Idaho; determination of historical significance and sign face replacement. John moved to approve the historically significant sign with the condition that the neon lighting around the ‘Kalispell’ is in working order and the ‘Welcome’ of Option #2 is paired with the sign body of Option #3; Cara seconded (5-0) Other Discussion: Meeting Adjourned @ 8:35 AM
