A RESOLUTION TO AMEND RESOLUTION NO. 3396, BY AMENDING THE STANDARDS
AND GENERAL PROVISIONS FOR DESIGN AND CONSTRUCTION. FOR THE CITY OF
KALISPELL, MONTANA.
WHEREAS, the City of Kalispell adopted on the 15th day of March, 1982, pursuant
to Ordinance No. 1003, the "Standards and General Provisions for Design and
Construction", City of Kalispell, Montana, and
WHEREAS, it has become necessary to amend and correct the "Standards and
General Provisions for Design and Construction" for the efficient operation of the
City of Kalispell Public Works.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
KALISPELL THAT THE STANDARDS AND GENERAL PROVISIONS FOR DESIGN AND
CONSTRUCTION O'F THE CITY OF KALISPELL, MONTANA, ARE AMENDED AS
FOLLOWS:
SECTION I: - As slet forth in Exhibit "All attached hereto and thereby
made a part thereof.
SECTION II. This Resolution ' shall become effective immediately upon
passage by the City Council and approval by the Mayor.

AND APPROVED BY THE MAYOR THIS 18TH DAY OF MARCH, 1985.

Other construction work within the right of way shall be inspected and
approved by the City Construction Inspector or his representative. It
is the permittee's responsibility to notify the City of his work requiring
inspection at least twenty-four (24) hours in advance so that the City
may schedule,and perform such inspections.
Page 1-6 Add Article GP-13 as follows:
GP-13 Stop Work Order
A stop work order may be verbally issued by the Director of Public
Works or his representative if the work in progress does not meet the
City of Kalispell's Construction Specifications and Standards or for any
other valid reason. Work may resume after the problems are rectified.
A written follow up specifying the reason(s) for the issuance of the
stop work order will be mailed to the affected contractor within
twenty-four (24) hours of the.,yerbal issuance , of said stop work order, -

Add between paragraphs three and four t�e following paragraph:
Pea gravel may be used as Pipe Bedding if it is compacted by use of
mechanical vibrators. Pea gravel may not be used as trench backfill
above the pipe bedding.
Page 111-5 W-05 Trench Backfill
Insert the following sentence at the beginning of the first paragraph:
The trench shall not be backfilled until all the pipe has been inspected.
In the second paragraph,- fifth line up from the bottom of the page, change
shoulder to "shoulders" and insert "and boulevards"
Section IV R-6 Standard Sidewalk
Underneath base course insert: See Note No. 6
Add the following in note:
6. Base course material shall consist of crushed gravel as specified on
Page 111-17, Article R-01 and the base course material shall be compacted
to the specifications on Page 111-21, Article R-07.
