A RESOLUTION OF INTENTION TO EXCEED THE CURRENT
STATUTORY MILL LEVEL
BY SUBMITTING
TO THE
QUALIFIED AND
REGISTERED
ELECTOR OF THE CITY
OF KALISPELL FOR THEIR
APPROVAL, THE
LEVYING OF
AN ADDITIONAL 5
MILL OVER THE
MAXIMUM
STATUTORY AMOUNT FOR A
PERIOD OF TWO YEARS
TO ENABLE THE
CITY OF
KALISPELL TO
PURCHASE A
FIRE TRUCK, AND TO
DIRECT DUE AND
PROPER
NOTICE OF SAID
ELECTION UNTO THE ELECTORS.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF KALISPELL AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. That the City of Kalispell proposes to exceed the maximum
statutory levy for the purpose of purchasing a fire truck for use by
the City of Kalispell Fire Department.
SECTION Il. That the City of Kalispell intends to raise by exceeding a
maximum statutory levy of One Hundred and Fifty Thousand Dollars
($150, 000. )
SECTION 1111111. That the mill levy to be exceeded by the City, should
the voters of the City of Kalispell authorize said excess, will be the
statutory 65 mill all purpose levy authorized by Section 7-6-4452 M.C.A.
SECTION IV. The approximate number of mills required to -be raised in
order to purchase a fire truck is 5 mills, levied over a period of
not to exceed two years.
SECTION V. The City Clerk and City Attorney are hereby authorized
and directed to take the necessary provisions for submitting the question
to the registered electors at the next general election to be held on the
___Lthday of November, 1984. The authorization herein given shall
include, but not be limited to, preparation of legal notices, publication,
posting and preparation of proper ballots.
