Board of Directors Meeting
April 20, 2021, 4:00 at City Hall + Zoom
WELCOME: Members present:
(In Person) Teri Iwerson, Mark Schickendantz, Chris Vick, Cate Webber, MaryPat Murphy, Beth
Collier, Sue Corrigan, Carrie Nelson, Katharine King, Brit Clark and guest Natalie Vick
(Via Zoom): Tia Robbin, Diane Medler, Jessica Treweek
Treasurer Report:
• Everit was not able to join the meeting today so Mark and Brit shared some highlights
from the financial reports. March was a good month. Tours were up. August is booked
for weddings this year. (Weddings are following the same alcohol policy we have had
for previous years.) Performance of the endowment has been quite good. Expenses
and donations are both less than last year.
Committee Reports:
Maintenance Committee:
• Mark shared information and catalog pictures for the Brick Naming project. One pallet
of bricks will cover 110 square feet, and the project can be installed 100 feet at a time.
Mark has discussed the bricks with Robert and also John Hesselwood who is familiar
with brick projects at Buffalo Hills. Beth moved that we take this project on. Cate
seconded.
Room Sponsorship Committee:
• Flathead Electric, Tia Robbin, and Dan Wilson will sponsor the library. The Room
sponsorships will total $32,000. Room signs will be by Snowghost Design and displayed
in rooms starting May 15tn.
Directors Report:
• On St. Patrick's Day the Mansion had a fun "Find the Leprechaun" mini event. Kids were
offered free admission and candy prizes for spotting the Leprechaun hidden in the Great
Hall.
• Whitefish Day of Giving and Unity will be May 4t". There is a match and for $2,000 raised
there will be a bonus. Brit will have a couple of guides go downtown to help promote
the Mansion. Donations will all be paid online or at designated local downtown local
ba n ks.
• Women Who Wine events participation encouraged.
• Mother's Day Tea will be coming up May 8-9t" and the first day is almost filled up. Food
provided by Apple & Oak, a pop up picnic service.
• May 15t" will be the Kick Off for the tour season. 11:00-3:00 with music by Steve Eckels
band, corn hole and croquet on the lawn and special rate for self guided tours. A taco
and and shaved ice food truck will also be at the Mansion.
• July 4t"- The Mansion would still like to do the traditional celebration. Kruise Kalispell is
handling the parade this year. Cate offered her truck and trailer if the Mansion would
like to do a float.
• Speciality Clothing Tour: This year Teresa's tour, "Victorian Secrets" will focus on
undergarments of the era. Tours by appointment. A thank you card was passed around
for Teresa.
Other Business:
Memorial Donation for Mark Norley ($10,000) + $5,000 Anonymous donation
• In honor of all of Mark's energies towards building a separate guest/restroom facility,
the board would like to apply this donation towards new restrooms at the Mansion.
Chris Vick moved to create an exploratory committee to investigate bathroom
construction on the grounds. Mark S. seconded. All members in favor. Gary Havens will
head the exploratory committee. Chris moved to reserve the Mark Norley Memorial
Donation and the $5,000 anonymous donation for bathroom construction. Mark and
Jessica tied for seconding the motion.
