WHEREAS, upon the advice and recommendation of Stahly Engineering &
Associates who is the City's consultant and
Engineer or Architect
engineer on said project, certain changes and alterations of design and specifica-
tions -have been found necessary and adviseable and in the best interests of the
City; and said changes andalterations could not have been -necessarily forseeable
when the original design and specifications were prepared on this phase of the
Grant No. C-.300263-012 and said changes are contained in
Project
Exhibit "A" attached hereto and are by this reference made a part hereof; and
R'HEREAS, it appears in the best interests of the City to approve said changes
and alterations,
NOW THEREFORE, pursuant to the provisions of Section 7 - 5 - 4308(1) MCA
be it hereby resolved;
1. The alterations and modifications of the specifications and plans of the
contract.between the City of Kalispell and Chemseal, Inc. ,
Contractor
dated October 14, 1980 as set out in Exhibit "A" attached hereto, are
hereby approved; and
2. As soon as the price'to be paid for said alterations and modifications
are agreed to in writing, signed by the contractor, as hereby approved by the
Council, this approval thereof shall be in effect.

JUSTIFICATION
.The in -field quantities of the number of joints to be tested and
_sealed were significantly higher than originally estimated due to
inadeauate or inaccurate base data. See Exhibits A and B.
ACCEPTANCE
The City of Kalispell, owner, and Chemseal, Inc. - -- contractor,
in the above referenced contract, do hereby agree to the terms and conditions of
the instant change order number 1 and same is effective this date in accordance
with Resolution No. and said contract is amended accordingly.

The following change are hereby proposed to the Contract dated October 14 1980.
1. The total Contract Amount is hereby increased due to an in-
crease in the quantity of joints to be `
tested and sealed. Amount of Change 50,632.05

The total amount to be (added) (dele#,ed) hereby is 50 632.05
The contract price including this change order will be: 16 7,800.00
The contract time is changed by (adding) (dele+t Yr 3 calendar days thereto.
The amended date for completion of all work will be _ April 15, 1981
JUSTIFICATION The quantity ojoints to be tested and sealed were found
to be significantly higher in the field than as estimated based upon
existing plans and previous inspection work. Therefore the quantity
of this work .item must be increased in order to perform the work on
all the sewer mains designated to be rehabilitated. See Exhibit B.
