WREREAS, upon the advice and -recommendation of Stahly Engineering &
Associates who is the City's consultant and
Engineer or Architect
engineer on said project, certain changes and alterations of design and specifica-
tions -have been,found necessary and adviseable and in the best interests of the
City; and said changes and alterations could -not have been -necessarily forseeable
when the original design and specifications we're prepared on this phase of the
Gr=t No- C-300263-012 and said changes are contained in
Project
Exhibit "A" attached hereto and are by this reference made a part hereof; and
UqiEREAS, it appears in the best interests of the City to approve said changes
and alterations,
NOW THEREFORE, pursuant to the provisions of Section 7 5 4308(l) MCA
be it hereby resolved;
1. The alterations and modifications of the specifications and plans of the
contract.between the City of Kalispell and Chemseal, Inc.

dated Oc-tober 14. 198o as set out in Exhibit "Alt attached hereto, are
hereby approved; and
2. As soon as the price'to be paid for said alterations and modifications
are agreed to in writing, signed by the contractor, as hereby approved by the
Council, this Approval thereof shall be in effect.

.The in -field quantities of the number of joints to be tested and
sealed were si!lnificantly higher than originally estimated due to
inadeauate or inaccurate base data. See Exhibits A and B.

The City of Kalispell, owner, and Chemseal, Inc. contractor,
in 'the above referenced contract, do hereby agree to the term and conclitions of
the instant change order number 1 and same is effective this date in accordance
with Resolution No. and said contract is amended accordingly.

JUSTIFICATION The quantity of joints to be tested and sealed were found
to be significantly higher in the field than as estimated based upon
existing plans and previous inspection work. Therefore the quantity
of this work item must be increased in order to perform the work on
all the sewer mains designated to be rehabilitated. See'Exhibit B.
