A RESOLUTION CALLING FOR A PUBLIC HEARING TO RECEIVE COMMENT AND
OTHER EVIDENCE FROM THE PUBLIC REGARDING THE SAMARITAN HOUSE
APPLICATION TO THE MONTANA DEPARTMENT OF COMMERCE, COMMUNITY
DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT PLANNING GRANT PROGRAM, FOR A GRANT TO
FUND THE PREPARATION OF A PRELIMINARY ARCHITECTURAL REPORT FOR
THE EXPANSION OF THE SAMARITAN HOUSE FACILITY AT 1110 2ND STREET
WEST, KALISPELL, MONTANA.
WHEREAS, at a Public Needs Assessment Hearing held in November 2020, the critical need for
additional affordable housing in Kalispell was addressed by multiple presenters
including the Samaritan House; and
WHEREAS, Samaritan House seeks to pursue a Community Development Block Grant [CDBG]
Planning Grant to develop a Preliminary Architectural Report required for the
expansion of the Samaritan House facility located at 1110 2nd Street West in
Kalispell; and
WHEREAS, Samaritan House requests that the City of Kalispell act as Host for the submittal of
the grant application.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
KALISPELL AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. On the 17th day of May, 2021 at 7:00 o'clock P.M., in the Council
Chambers, City Hall, 201 1st Avenue East, Kalispell, Montana, the City
Council of the City of Kalispell shall hold a Public Hearing to receive public
testimony and evidence regarding a Samaritan House application for funding
from the Montana Department of Commerce Community Development
Block Grant (CDBG) program to develop a preliminary architectural report
(PAR) for the expansion of the Samaritan House facility at located 1110 2nd
Street West.
SECTION 2. All evidence and public comment derived from the hearing shall be included
in Samaritan House's application for funding from the CDBG Block Grant
program.
PASSED AND APPROVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL AND SIGNED BY THE MAYOR OF
THE CITY OF KALISPELL, THIS 3RD DAY OF MAY, 2021.

NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the City Council (the "Council") of the City of Kalispell,
Montana (the "City") will hold a public hearing to receive public testimony and evidence on May
17, 2021, at 7:00 p.m., regarding the Samaritan House application to the Montana Department of
Commerce, Community Development Block Grant Planning Grant program, for a grant to fund
the preparation of a Preliminary Architectural Report for the expansion of the Samaritan House
facility at 1110 2nd Street West, Kalispell, Montana. The public can participate via video

All evidence and public comment derived from the hearing shall be included in Samaritan
