Subject: [EXTERNAL] Brockman Comment Supporting Parkline Trail Bid Awarding
Good afternoon, below is public comment in support of the city council awarding the bid for Kalispell's Parkline Trail
tonight.
Good evening Kalispell City Council.
I am Tony Brockman. I have the privilege of serving as a board member for the Flathead County Economic Development
Authority, Kalispell's partner in the Core and Rail Redevelopment Project. I write today to encourage the city council to
support awarding the Kalispell Parkline Trail bid and moving the project towards completion.
Revitalizing our core area was once thought impossible. Many before tried, failed and gave up. This time is different
though, we have the experience, the drive, and yes, the hopeful energy to push this project forward. Our partnership
truly is a model for successful economic development.
From the start, we envisioned a robust public -private partnership to bring this project to fruition. We have already seen
private businesses and developers make substantial investments in the core area in preparation for the Kalispell Parkline
Trail. These investments, both public and private, will do wonders for our community in terms of new businesses, jobs,
and increased property tax revenue.
In closing, I encourage you to unanimously support the awarding of the bid for Kalispell's Parkline Trail and send a signal
to residents and businesses that Kalispell is on the move and the best is yet to come for our community.
Thank you,
Tony Brockman
