Subject: [EXTERNAL] Proposed Four Mile Drive bikepath
Council members,
I am in favor of the funding application to build a Bikepath along Four Mile Drive. The project would fill in a gap
between the bypass and the network of trails through KidsSports and FVCC and eventually Whitefish Stage. The
connection would also open up loops of varying length for walking and biking.
Paved trails are of vital importance, since they allow regular exercise in the muddy weather of winter and early spring.
The proposed Bikepath is also served by a parking lot, which is a major consideration in choosing a location to walk or
bike.
I would also ask the council to open discussions with the DNRC, MDOT and school district in providing a direct
connection between Glacier High School and the bypass pedestrian tunnel. Along with improving access for students,
the school parking lot is a convenient starting spot for evening walks.
Thanks for this opportunity to comment,
