A RESOLUTION CALLING FOR A PUBLIC HEARING TO RECEIVE COMMENT AND
OTHER EVIDENCE FROM THE PUBLIC REGARDING THE CITY MAKING
APPLICATION TO THE MONTANA DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION'S (MDT)
TRANSPORTATION ALTERNATIVES GRANT PROGRAM FOR THE PURPOSE OF
CONSTRUCTING A MULTI -USE PATH CONNECTION ON THE NORTH SIDE OF 4
MILE DRIVE AT THE WEST END OF KIDSPORTS TO CONNECT TO THE EXISTING
TRAIL SYSTEM ON THE EAST SIDE OF THE BY-PASS ALONG THE BLOOMSTONE
SITE.
WHEREAS, the Montana Department of Transportation's (MDT) Transportation Alternatives
grant program provides funding to local governments to support transportation
projects for pedestrians, bicyclists, and other non -motorized forms of transportation
in order to achieve compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990; and
WHEREAS, the City of Kalispell proposes to construct a multi -use path connection extending a
distance of 815 feet beginning on the north side of 4 Mile Drive at the west end of
Kidsports, to connect the existing trail system on the east side of the By Pass
alongside the Bloomstone site; and
WHEREAS, the grant requires a public hearing to invite public input and the grant application is
due June 4, 2021.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
KALISPELL AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. On the 3rd day of May, 2021 at 7:00 o'clock P.M., in the Council Chambers,
City Hall, 201 1 st Avenue East, Kalispell, Montana, the City Council of the
City of Kalispell shall hold a Public Hearing to receive public testimony and
evidence regarding a City of Kalispell application for funding from the MDT
Transportation Alternatives grant program to construct 815 feet of multi -use
path as described in the recitals above.
SECTION 2. All evidence and public comment derived from the hearing shall be included
in the City's application for funding from the MDT Transportation
Alternatives grant program.
PASSED AND APPROVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL AND SIGNED BY THE MAYOR OF
THE CITY OF KALISPELL, THIS 19`h DAY OF APRIL, 2021.

NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the City Council (the "Council") of the City of Kalispell,
Montana (the "City") will hold a public hearing to receive public testimony and evidence regarding
a City of Kalispell application for funding from the Montana Department of Transporation (MDT)
Transportation Alternatives grant program to construct a multi -use path connection extending a
distance of 815 feet beginning on the north side of 4 Mile Drive at the west end of Kidsports, to
connect the existing trail system on the east side of the Hwy 93 Bypass alongside the Bloomstone
site on May 3, 2021, at 7:00 p.m., at the Council Chambers in the Kalispell City Hall. The public

All evidence and public comment derived from the hearing shall be included in the City's
