PARKS SUPERINTENDENT Park, :Superint ndent Drent requested,an increase in his salary to-. $2,000..00 a month, . which is; approximately.I plus longevity; For the rest 'of-:his.alloted time 'he and the council held a general discussion of the Parks;Department. Street'Superintendent'.Cl'ements announced he would;be;retiring March 1 And.saidwhatever the council thinks is.:fair would suit him. Councilman;;,Saverud, asked if he had any general recommendation as.to.where his position fit',within the Public Works'larea: He wasn't really sure; he.'supervises 19 men. Councilman Nystul asked if his replacement should have any different responsibilities than he has. Clements felt it`should-.be the same. He gill have 14 yeaars;with the city on March 14 CITY. JUDGE City Judge Paul Willi.s,suggested a $,100 a month increase wouid; put ;laic salary in line with.other comparable -Montana Cities. The position:is part time now, as declared by the City Council in 1974. The secretary took at least a $100 a mouth` decrease to take the job and gave up 8 years of longevity. Fran said she would be working more than three hours!a day and, the work: would take .longer than three hours, a ;day' arid: -she' •would .like to start at .$15'000, with an increase next -.year,.
