At approximately 2230 hours on 2/21/21, a Kalispell Police Sergeant attempted a traffic
stop on a silver Ford F-150 pickup truck near E Idaho St and 2nd Ave EN. The suspect
vehicle fled, and a pursuit ensued west on Idaho St and continued westbound on
Highway 2 W. While pursuing, Kalispell Police officers were notified of a stolen vehicle
report identifying a male juvenile as the suspect in a vehicle matching the description of
the one officer's were pursuing. With the added information and the ability to
apprehend the suspect at a later time, the KPD Sergeant terminated the pursuit in order
to reduce the danger to citizens, police officers, and the suspect.
KPD Officers later apprehended the driver, who had fled on foot. KPD was assisted by
the Flathead County Sheriff's Office. The incident remains under investigation.
