Subject: [EXTERNAL] multiple dwelling issues
Fortunately I follow the local news online. I was able to view an action that it seems you feel there is no need to inform
the homeowners about via the regular mail. as a homeowner of three houses in Kalispell 2 on 4th Ave West and one on
rising sun circle, I am very concerned about this choice to allow people to build other dwelling on single family home
sites without any review. with absolutely no concern as to how it affects the neighbors around them. their pride of
ownership and property values being affected because someone wants to put small homes on their property. on 4th ave
west we already have issues with neighbors building apartments in the top of their garages against the alley without
permits or oversight.also with people renting out their garages with no plumbing or heat. just electrical. to people of less
than desirable nature causing difficulty in resale of property. Now you're going to allow them to place multiple dwellings
in backyards and even driveways with no regulation from the city. All of these illegal builds that are happening already
will also pose a problem. if I decided to add dwellings to my property and have to follow regulation and my neighbor did
it early without permit. Are you going to force him to move his illegal structure to conform with setbacks?
This is very thoughtless that you feel you can proceed with this issue without sending notice out to the property owners
and feeling that your buddy or someone that might read about it in the media is enough for you to make this kind of
decision
I would ask that you stop this process till ALL homeowners are notified and even consider place this action up for the
community to vote on.
