The applicants have applied to the City of Kalispell for a
conditional use permit to allow for a 35,000 square foot expansion
to the existing 41,000 square foot church. The expansion would
consist of several additions being made around the existing
building, the largest of which would be a 21,500 square foot
addition to the northwest end of the building.
The Kalispell City -County Planning Board and Zoning Commission,
after due and proper notice, on August 8, 2000, held a public
hearing on the application, took public comment and recommended that
the application be approved subject to five conditions.
After reviewing the application, the record, the FRDO report,
and after duly considering the matter, the City Council of the City
of Kalispell, pursuant to the Kalispell Zoning Ordinance, hereby
adopts Flathead Regional Development Office, Conditional Use Report
#KCU-00-06 as the Council's findings of fact, and issues and grants
to the above -described real property a conditional use permit to
allow the expansion of the existing church, in a Residential, R-3
zoning district subject to the following conditions:
SECTION I.
1. That the proposal will be developed in substantial
conformance with the approved site plan.
2. That a letter from the Kalispell fire chief be submitted
to the City of Kalispell Building Departmentapproving
the fire suppression system.
3. That the existing private driveway from the western
parking lot to the south end of North Haven Drive be a
minimum of 20 feet wide and paved.
4. That all of the required conditions of approval be met
prior to the issuance of a certificate of occupancy.
5. That this conditional use permit is valid for a period of
18 months from the date of authorization.
