FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
At approximately 12:57 AM on 11/18/2020 the Kalispell Fire Department was dispatched to a
residential structure fire located at 737 East California space #2. In route it was reported that
civilians were still in the structure. Upon arrival of the first engine company no fire was visible with
a small amount of smoke showing. Fire Crews made entry and when completing their primary
search of the smaller trailer home found 3 occupants and effected rescues on all three individuals.
With assistance from mutual aid partners medical care was immediately started as all 3 occupants
appeared critical. All three civilians were transported to Kalispell Regional Medical Center via
ambulance and at time of this report 2 have been reported deceased.
The fire which primarily was contained to the front room of the trailer had mostly burned out and
was readily extinguished. The fire investigation is ongoing with the assistance of Kalispell Police
Department's Detectives Division. No other information in regards to this incident will be release
until the investigation has concluded.
Mutual aid was received from Kalispell Police Department, Evergreen Fire Department, Smith
Valley Fire Department, Whitefish fire Department, Kalispell PSAP 911 Center and Flathead
Electric.
