MontanaBasecamp Public Comment from Andy MatthewsFrom:Andrew Matthews To:Kalispell Meetings Public Comment Subject:[EXTERNAL] MontanaBasecamp.com Date:Monday, August 24, 2020 1:08:06 PM Kalispell City Council, MontanaBasecamp.com is committed to offering the best Camping Experience possible regardless of weather conditions. Our campers decided where they camp and when across the entire country. I have a list of 26 campers wanting to RV at all different times during our cooler months so far this season. Some are looking for under 90 days and some are looking for a place until spring. RV camping occurs from Montana to Canada all winter long. In areas much cooler then in our valley. Montana Basecamp needs to be able to not only capture our existing under 90 day guest but also our under 7 month guest as well. Modern RVs and Class A buses are extremely well designed for our weather and much cooler. Our list consist of guest ranging from teachers to CEOs. From a $20,000 sub zero Arctic Fox to $600,000 class A bus. This summer one of our guest went home on his private jet after RVing across the country. He told me that we were his final destination. We are not a “dump” from a time gone by with gravel pads and roads on septic. Montana Basecamp is a state of the art modern well thought out RV Resort large enough and positioned is such a location as to become a national destination for the RVing public. We are attracting a mobile network of highly capable outdoor enthusiast. The top selling segment of the RV market is a smaller super off the grip type of RV. These folks seek out extreme weather locations and destinations. Glacier, Flathead, Whitefish and MontanaBasecamp are the destinations. Our business needs the flexibility to accommodate. We never imagined a situation where Canada, Montana and Glacier could be shut down other then a summer fire. Please do not hold our business back over the number of days someone can enjoy Montana or how comfortable they can be in there RV. Our local neighbors and community Love MontanaBasecamp. Kalispell is better for having us in town. All the local businesses receive direct business coming from our Resort. 7 month is a short temporary stay for RVs and a huge financial boost to Kalispell.
