Airport Information 2Pati Heath From: Pati Heath [pheath@kalispell.com] Sent: Monday, December 08, 2003 8:30 AM To: 'Susan Moyer' Subject: RE: Airport Information Page 1 of 2Message 1/27/2005 Susan, Chris has not mentioned that he talked to you about this although we have had a couple of brief conversations since I have been getting many requests from pilots looking for space. About 2 months ago, the Airport Advisory Board established a hangar committee to begin looking at some ideas on how to move forward since there is no FAA money available until after the towers are down and land purchased. To date little has been finalized, except to get existing information on specs, etc. from the building department. I understand they are meeting tomorrow. One thing that has to be completed prior to developing hangars is to determine the location of the FBO--which has not been set in concrete. I think that the original plans were developed with modifications possible. In Oct. Dave Hoerner brought in a recommended plan, for when the City completes the sale of his property and it includes a FBO plan. He wants the City to build all the buildings and lease back to him---and now the Board has to decide if they are willing to do all of what he has requested and how that would be accomplished. We do have two parties interested in breaking ground on hangars immediately, so some decisions need to be made right away. I have asked the committee to follow several steps to get to a place where they can make a recommendation at the Board meeting on Wednesday. I don't know if they will be ready to do that. Let me know what kind of timeframe you are looking for and we will certainly try to meet it. If we need to talk about this some, I am in this week. My calendar is pretty full today and on Thursday the 11th. If you would like to join the Airport Board meeting it is on the 10th at 3PM. Chris mentioned it would be a good opportunity to cover the costs of the rental buildings the City is contemplating constructing as well as the runways (?) up to them. What I need to know is: 1. How many rental units is the Authority contemplating being built? 2. What is the cost for the construction of the buildings? 3. What is the infrastructure costs (sewer, water, paving, etc.) for the development? 4. What rental income will all this generate? 5. What sort of implementation schedule is identified? 6. What other needs might there be that the City would earn income from? I know you're gone from the 11th. I would appreciate your getting back to me as soon as you can.
