Re_ Resolutions 5968 and 5969 Public Comment 2 from Mary BohacFrom:Western Associates To:Kalispell Meetings Public Comment Subject:[EXTERNAL] Re: Resolutions 5968 and 5969 Date:Monday, May 4, 2020 3:44:44 PM Also, to clarify my comments below, after checking with Kyle Waterman I understand the elimination of the summer sprinkler rates is part of these resolutions. I hope the city hasincluded a projection in each resolution of how that will drastically increase resident water bills, although I didn't see it in the agenda attachments. If that information hasn't beenprovided to the city council it is an enormous oversight which needs to be rectified. The council representatives hold their positions based on the responsibility to protect the welfare of the residents that elected them, not the interests of developers. The cost of expanding Kalispell utility infrastructure to accommodate new development should be paid for by that development. If the financial burden of development utility expansion is not borne by its cause, the question must be asked how and why city council members are being influenced. I look forward to the city council recalling their responsibility to the resident taxpayers that elected them and voting down both resolutions. New resolutions should be drafted that increase development fees to pay for any utility expansion and maintenance of existing infrastructure would be paid for by existing residents.
