It's incomprehensible that the city council would even consider resolutions that penalizecurrent Kalispell residents in favor of developers. The council representatives hold their
positions based on the responsibility to protect the welfare of the residents that elected them,not the interests of developers.
The cost of expanding Kalispell utility infrastructure to accommodate new developmentshould be paid for by that development. If the financial burden of development utility
expansion is not borne by its cause the question must be asked how city council membersare being influenced and why they are making those decisions.
I look forward to the city council recalling their responsibility to the resident taxpayers thatelected them and voting down both resolutions. New resolutions should be drafted that
increase development fees to pay for any utility expansion and maintenance of existinginfrastructure would be paid for by existing residents.
