RESOLUTION NO. 4468
A RESOLUTION AMENDING SECTION 20-5, PERSONNEL POLICIES HANDBOOK, BY
CLASSIFYING ADDITIONAL EMPLOYEES AS EXEMPT UNDER THE FAIR LABOR
STANDARDS ACT.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Kalispell by
Resolution No. 4150 adopted the Personnel Policies
Handbook containing a list of employees deemed
exempt pursuant to the Fair Labor Standards Act,
and
WHEREAS, the City has reviewed the Job Descriptions and
duties of certain salaried positions not included
in said list to determine the eligibility for
exempt status, and
WHEREAS, under FLSA guidelines certain salaried positions
may be properly classified as exempt under FLSA.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
KALISPELL, AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION I. That Section 20-5, Personnel Policies Handbook
is hereby amended by classifying the following
positions as exempt from the overtime
provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act:
1. Elected Officers of the City
2. City Manager
3. City Attorney
4. Fire Chief
5. Assistant Fire Chief
6. Police Chief
7. Assistant Police Chief
8. Director of Public Works
9. Assistant City Engineer
10. Assistant City Attorney
11. Design Technician/Project Manager
12. Public Works Superintendent
13. Surveyor
14. Wastewater Treatment Plant Manager
15. Director of Planning, Economic and
Community Development
16. Building Official
17. Housing Division Manager
18. Planning and Redevelopment Division
Manager
19. Zoning Administrator
20. Director of Parks and Recreation
21. Finance Director
22. Assistant Finance Director
23. Personnel Specialist
SECTION II. This Resolution shall take effect immediately
upon passage by the City Council.

THE CITY OF KALISPELL, THIS 19TH DAY OF APRIL, 1999.
