Utility Rates/Impact Fees Public Comment from Lisa SimmerAimee Brunckhorst From: rushfanIisa@gmail.com Sent: Wednesday, February 19, 2020 7:00 PM To: Kalispell City Council Subject: [EXTERNAL] Proposed Water and sewer increases Follow Up Flag: Follow up Flag Status: Completed Dear Council Members, While understanding the need to fund infrastructure, I completely disagree with reducing the impact fees while raising the costs to residents. Developers make good profits on house building and in this current market it's really not going to stop building or growth. Another concern is the current lack of watering of boulevards being done by citizens and the spread of spotted knapweed as a result. Increasing water fees to the extent being proposed will result in less watering and care of boulevards, less water to boulevard trees and more spotted knapweed. Additionally, while this increase will not make our water bill unaffordable to our household it will severely impact many friends who are single income households who already feel the weight of huge property tax and cost of living increases. Please consider all the impacts this increase will have. Sincerely, Lisa Simmer 404 6th Ave West Kalispell, MT 59901 Sent from my iPhone 1
