Subject: [EXTERNAL] Comment on Water and sewer rate increases
Dear Mr. Mayor and City Council members:
I'm writing to comment on the proposed water and sewer rate increases. Thank you for this opportunity.
Although I agree that water and sewer services are due for needed improvements, the proposed fee increase schedule
looks like it would impose a burden on people living on limited incomes. Adjusting the project construction schedule and
fee increase schedule over a longer time period would give welcome relief to those of us on modest incomes.
Lowering impact fees on developers would create an unfair financial burden on the rest of the community. Please don't
lower these impact fees.
Last, I'd like to speak up for home gardeners who have benefited from the discounted sprinkling rate. Those of us
(including seniors) who depend on our home gardens to provide much our families' fresh veggies and fruit would miss
the discount rate very much.
Thank you for holding the Feb. 18 open house; it was very informative.
Sincerely,
Laura Behenna
