Utility Rates/Impact Fees Public Comment from Dan HammondAimee Brunckhorst From: Dan Hammond <hammondd24@yahoo.com> Sent: Monday, March 2, 2020 4:46 PM To: Kalispell City Council Subject: [EXTERNAL] water/sewer rate increase Hello , my name is Dan Hammond I live at 209 Northridge drive Kalispell. I am having trouble understanding why the city continually needs to take more money from residents to raise money for infrastructure upgrades or expanding infrastructure. The proposed water/sewer increase is not something that will go unnoticed on the pocketbooks of the average resident. Lowering current impact fees on any type of new construction , commercial or residential is outright absurd. The city of Kalispell should not be lowering costs on developers and placing that cost on existing residents to attract new development, which is exactly what is happening here. If people want to build here they should pay the price to expand current infrastructure. If we continue to raise fees the city of Kalispell will inevitably continue to decline in beauty as residents will no longer be able to afford to water their lawns or pay for other home upgrades. Eventually it will turn into California and that's sad! Thanks Dan Hammond
