Utility Rates, Impact Fees from Randy HedgesDear Council members, I am very much opposed to rate increases of any type for water & sewer. I feel
Kalispell charges excessively for sewer at this time. I live at 319 Harrison Blvd. I have my current bill in
front of me My account # is .As you can see, sewer rates are currently almost double of what water
rates are. My current bill - $29.37 water, $51.46 sewer. If you reference my account, it has been that
way since I bought in 2003. When I inquired about the exorbitant sewer rates, I was told it was to pay
for the state of the art sewage treatment plant that was so environmentally clean. Kalispell is the only
place I have ever lived where sewer is charged on your water bill. Every other place it is charged on your
property tax & is always such a small number that it is really a nonissue. I cannot make the March 2
meeting, but want to express my opposition to any increases & would like to know why Kalispell is the
only place where for every $1 you pay for water, it costs close to $2 for sewer. Some of the places I have
lived are Billings, Missoula, Polson, Libby & water bills at any of these places were never enough to
worry about & again sewer was way less than water. Sincerely, Randy Hedges
