COVID related New construction Public Comment from Patrick KestellFrom:patrick kestell To:Kalispell City Council Subject:[EXTERNAL] New construction Date:Friday, April 3, 2020 1:17:44 PM Hello my name is Patrick. I was have a major concern about covid-19 in relation to ongoing new construction sites. The governor has received 100s if not 1000s of emails trying to put astop to the horrible unsanitary conditions on our job sites. No hand sanitizing stations, no hand sanitizer in the bathrooms, no running water or soap. Governor bullock has placed aquarantine restriction on traveling except for work. We have people coming from Washington, idaho, gallatin county. We are very worried about our health. The large corporate constructioncompanies refuse to shut jobs down. The also refuse to meet osha and state health requirements. Bullocks office secretary has contacted some workers and said we dont have togo to work. The problem is these jobs continue and schedules will be kept. A large portion of montana men and women work in construction. With the recycled air, no sanitization, andtraveling workers. If one person comes here sick. 100s on a job will get sick, take it home to loved ones and it will exponentially grow. We were in fear for our health and our careers. Many of us have spouses who our nurses on the front line, doctors, mid level providers. I dont see, how our lives and families lives are not more important then shiny new schools andluxury homes. I was born and raised here. I've always done what's right for my fellow montanans. At this point many of us home grown montanans are starting to loose faith in ourgovernment. We feel under valued and members of this community. I am reaching out to my local government to shed some lite on the subject. The sanitation conditions are now 3rd worldon the job sites. The big bosses making the money are at home sending threatening emails to sub contractors which then come to us. We better show up and shut up or we will be replaced. I hope to hear from you. This could be the difference of between kalispell being the third most infected in the state to the first. Thank you for your time
