COVID-19 State of emergency Public Comment from Scott Smith2From:scott smith To:Kalispell Meetings Public Comment Subject:[EXTERNAL] Date:Monday, April 6, 2020 3:43:11 PM To whom it may concern, I hope this finds yo uh and your families well. I would like to take this time to voice my opinion on the issue at hand, that of you declaring g A state of emergency for the city of Kalispell. As a resident of the city, and a KRMC employee, this would be a very bad decision to make. The people of Kalispell are already stressed enough and byadding this it would only add to the stress. At this time these steps are not needed and should only be put into place as a last line of defense. By declaring the state of emergency you are making the cure worse than the virus its self. Not only would you be adding more stress to the people of Kalispell but you would be stretching out police force even further to the breaking point. Our police force needs to concentrate on more pressing Matt and a such as the drug problem, thefts and break ins, partner assualt, etc not enforcing a curfew or worrying about whypeople are out and about. You need to take a step back and look at the full impact this could cause. Are you prepared to handle that? I think not. Worry about the things you can control and not the things you can't. This is one of those things you can not control. It is out of ourhands. I hope you take the time and consider the full and long term impact this could have on our community. Sincerely, Scott D. Smith
