As a concerned citizen of Kalispell, after reading tonight’s meeting agenda and proposal of Ordinance 1840, I urge
the council to vote NO on Ordinance 1840.
The state of Montana has already declared a state of emergency. Governor Steve Bullock has done an impeccable
job at keeping all Montana citizens safe. All citizens are practicing the guidelines that have been set up by the CDC
and recommended by the COVID-19 presidential task force.
There is no reason to give ultimate power and authority to the city manager. At this time Kalispell has been
practicing all of the CDC guidelines, and we ALL have been diligent at practicing personal hygiene and social
distancing, therefore there is no reason to expand and ratify the declaration of emergency.
Passing of this Ordinance would not only be detrimental to our city but also set a poor example to our citizens.
Again, I URGE you to forgo the herd mentality of other states, avoid the “one size fits all” approach and TRUST
that citizens are capable of following the voluntary CDC recommendations.
Thank you for listening, I hope you can see the bigger picture and the ramifications this ordinance would have
Sincerely a concerned citizen,
Sarah Bramme
