Subject:[EXTERNAL] Not in favor of opposed State of Emergency for Kalispell

To whom it may concern,
I am NOT in favor of call for a State of Emergency for Kalispell. I don’t feel that it is needed.
I do not see how this State of Emergency will aid in the stopping of a virus but I DO see this as a way of creating a
police state and taking away more of our rights. This action does not help anyone and creates more harm.
What if I have to get to my mother-in-law after “curfew” hours? Will I get arrested? Will my children get arrested if
they are trying to get home from her house or ANYONES house? Will the police drive down streets watching for
people out of their homes? What will be their punishment?
This action will NOT stop a virus.
What it WILL do is cause distrust and anger. What it WILL do is take away more of our rights.
I have had to watch my child not be able to work because she is considered “not essential” ...I have watched her
boyfriend have to lose a week of work because of his FATHER working outside of Kalispell ( even though he
LIVES in Montana) and popping in to check on him.
How will this help them or us in ANYWAY? It won’t.
This will not only negatively effect my family, but others as well. I hope you will reconsider this motion and chose a
less extreme course of action or just keep the same one we have in place.
Sincerely,
Robin Blakeney
