Hello,
I am writing this email to voice my concern. According to the article one topic that seems
troublesome to me is the idea of Declaration of State of Local Disaster
Emergency due to COVID-19. I understand we could need emergency
funding. My concern is possible enforcement of quarantine and curfews.
The people are already uneasy and unsure this will add unnecessary stress.
Our local law enforcements focus should be on the drug and theft problem
the flathead faces daily. This is country is land of the free last time I
checked. We are adults and can make our own appropriate choices and
decisions when we can and can't leave our homes. I have a daughter turning
11 next week. I have to make a target run to buy birthday decorations and
presents. Is this classified as a essential probably not. I will take my
chances as that is my choice. I am also very responsible person. I have been
taking the extra measures to protect myself and my family. Thinking about
my rights possible being revoked scare the hell out of me. I think the state
of MT has already taken the appropriate measures in closing business that
are not essential. The places that are open have reduced hours. Not all
people have 9-5 schedules. They may have to run up to walmart at 10 at
night after there husband gets home and there children are in bed. What I
am getting at is enforcing a quarantine and curfew is not the answer for the
flathead valley. I ask you to make good choices on behalf of the people
that you represent. Implementing these items will cause angry and uneasy
citizens. How far will these angry people go. I don't want to find out. We
already have issues in the flathead. Please don't add to them.
Thank you for your time,
Cassi Smith
