Subject:[EXTERNAL] Vote “no” on state of emergency declaration

I’m writing to voice my concerns about tonight’s vote on whether or not to declare a state of
emergency. I implore you to vote no.
First off, the state is already under a state of emergency. Why does our city need to duplicatethis?
Two, were already under lockdown... even though infection in Montana is only approximately
0.025%
Three, I do not feel it is appropriate to invest such a wide range of powers in a singleunelected official.
This is an unnecessary action that will likely lead to additional panic and fear in our
communities.
Instead of making things worse why not take productive steps to try and salvage oureconomy... such as a website that lists businesses still open and what services they offer or a
website that lists businesses desperately hiring or nonprofits that are in grave need. Take stepsto lift us up out of this and bring us together... not lock us down further and sow seeds of fear.
Thank you for your consideration.
