Conrad Mansion Grant Application Public Comment from Brit ClarkFrom:Jarod Nygren To:Aimee Brunckhorst Subject:FW: [EXTERNAL] Environmental Review Date:Monday, April 6, 2020 11:59:24 AM See comment below. From: Brit Clark <brit@conradmansion.com> Sent: Monday, April 6, 2020 11:53 AM To: Jarod Nygren <jnygren@kalispell.com> Subject: [EXTERNAL] Environmental Review Hi Jarod, I’m not sure if a comment is still necessary from me, but I have included one for this email regarding tonight’s meeting: My name is Brit Clark and I am the Museum Director of the Conrad Mansion. The Conrad Mansion is in need of an upgraded wiring system that enhances fire safety and general operations of the building’s deteriorating electrical system. The Conrad Mansion is asking for $36,000 from the MHPG for the proposed electrical wiring project. No matching funds are required for this grant. Funding will be dispersed in 2021 and funds will not be required by the Conrad Mansion upfront, as funding will be dispersed through draw requests. The Conrad Mansion will greatly benefit from an upgraded wiring system because the Conrad Mansion currently operates on cloth wiring, crumbling porcelain insulators, and exposed melted and warped contacts. The Conrad Mansion constantly has blown fuses, a result of high amperage that was not originally planned for. With the MHPG funding, we can update our current electrical system which will result in us being better able to protect the building and its valuable collection, as well as keeping our staff, visitors, and contractors safe.
