City Council,
Regarding the topic of declaring Kalispell a State of Emergency:
I do not agree with this declaration.
First of all – the number of Covid-19 cases in Flathead is not out of control. We currentlyhave 28 in the entire county with NO DEATHS! How many have been tested and are
negative or how many were positive and have recovered?I am not sure when the rules were written on how to implement a State of Emergency, but
they should be revised. We should NOT be entrusting the responsibilities to a singleperson – that is how dictatorships start!
Also, I do not live in the city limits as well as a lot of people in Flathead Valley. That would
mean if I need to go to town to the store, I would not be allowed. You cannot cut off peoplewho live in the County from accessing essentials which are only available in the City. This
is ludicrous!
I am one of the few lucky ones in this valley who are still working. I do not always have theability to go to town during someone’s opinion of when I should conduct my essential
business.
Lastly…on curfew’s! Because the virus cares about ‘hours’? No, I disagree. We are a freecountry and the moment we start taking away freedom’s is where our country starts falling
apart!
