To the members of the City of Kalispell Council:
In today’s Daily Interlake it is reported that the city of Kalispell will consider a declaration of a state
of emergency to curtail the spread of the Covid-19 virus.
Control of ingress and egress to the city is among the proposed items for discussion. If this is
implemented, it could significantly impact about 75,000 county citizens outside the city limits that
depend on the city of Kalispell for shopping for groceries, prescriptions, medical care and other
essential services. In addition, Kalispell is the seat of county government including the Health
Department.
Our son lives in Kalispell and does a significant amount of shopping for us to minimize our exposure
to the public. We need to meet him at his home, or he needs to travel to our home in Creston in
order to transfer supplies. We also need access to the city for medical care and some shopping.
Please ensure that any measures that are put in place are rational and consider the needs of the
citizens that reside outside the Kalispell city limits.
Respectfully,
Tom Tucker
