NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
RESOLUTION NO. 4416
A RESOLUTION CALLING FOR A PUBLIC HEARING ON THE APPLICATION FOR A
LOCAL LAW ENFORCEMENT BLOCK GRANT TO FUND OVERTIME FOR POLICE
WORKING OVERTIME RELATED TO JUVENILE SUBSTANCE ABUSE AND BIKE
PATROLS IN THE BUSINESS DISTRICT AND LOCAL PARKS.
WHEREAS, the Kalispell Police Department has proposed instituting
a program whereby officers would engage in bike patrol
within the business district and local parks to deal with
juvenile substance abuse and community oriented policing,
and
WHEREAS, the United States Department of Justice has available a
Local Law Enforcement Grant Program (COPS) to fund
overtime for officers engaged in the type of program
proposed by the Kalispell Police Department, and
WHEREAS, the Grant, in the amount of $9,323.00, would be a
Special Revenue Fund, 2918, Local Law Enforcement Block
Grant, in the fiscal 1999 budget.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
KALISPELL, AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION I. That on August 3, 1996 at 7:00 o'clock P.M.,
in the Council Chambers, City Hall, Kalispell,
the City Council will hold a public hearing on
the application for the Local Law Enforcement
Grant Program (COPS) for the purpose of
community oriented enforcement.
SECTION II. That notice of the passage of this resolution
shall be published pursuant to Section 7-1-
4127, MCA.
