A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY TO APPLY FOR A URGENCY
WATERSHED PROTECTION FUNDS WITH THE NATURAL RESOURCES CONSERVATION
SERVICE ON BEHALF OF THE KALISPELL GOLF ASSOCIATION.
WHEREAS, the City of Kalispell owns certain real property within
its corporate limits commonly known and referred to as
the Kalispell Municipal Golf Course, which it leases to
the Kalispell Golf Association, and
WHEREAS, Kalispell Golf Association under the lease is solely and
ultimately responsible for the maintenance, repair and
operation of the Kalispell Municipal Golf Course, and
WHEREAS, run-off from the Winter and Spring of 1997 has cause
serious erosion problems on holes #6, #7, and #13 which
abut the Stillwater River, and
WHEREAS, the Natural Resources Conservation Service has funds
available to mitigate and repair damages cause by
erosion, and
WHEREAS, the Kalispell Golf Association desires that the City of
Kalispell make a grant application on the Association's
behalf for a sum not to exceed $50,000, and
WHEREAS, the Kalispell Golf Association does not have funds
available to accomplish all repair needed, however the
Kalispell Golf Association has agreed to pay any sponsors
share of construction required by the Natural Resources
Conservation Service.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
KALISPELL, AS FOLLOWS:
$RCTION_I. That the City Manager is hereby authorized and
directed to make a grant application to the
Natural Resources Conservation Service for a
grant from the Emergency Watershed Protection
