A RESOLUTION TO INITIATE AN ANNUAL SIDEWALK REPLACEMENT PROGRAM FOR
THE CITY OF KALISPELL.
WHEREAS, the Public Works Department has completed a survey
regarding sidewalk conditions throughout the City of Kalispell, and
WHEREAS, the City of Kalispell has a need for a sidewalk
replacement program, and
WHEREAS, funds exist in the tax increment fund that can be
used for replacing public improvements including sidewalks in this
district, and
WHEREAS, the City Council would desire to use some of the
funds in the annual street improvement program to create an annual
improvement program for sidewalks in the City.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT:
SECTION I. The City will initiate a sidewalk replacement
program in the downtown tax increment district in FY 1997
using $75,000 of non -programmed funds.
SECTION II. The City will use $25,000 of the street
improvement funds for sidewalks in FY 1998 through the
year 2002 and each year thereafter a sum of $15,000 will
be used for sidewalk replacement.
SECTION III. The installation of new sidewalks in areas
that do not now have sidewalks will remain the
responsibility of the adjacent property owners.
SECTION IV. This resolution will become effective upon
passage and approval by the City Council.
