SUBJECT: New Ambulance Purchase
MEETING DATE: November 18, 2019
BACKGROUND: Bids for a Type I Ambulance were opened on November 7, 2019. The
procurement included the purchase of one (1) Ford F-450 Type I ambulance built to the
specifications advertised. Three responsive bid were received as follows:
• Professional Sales and Services
Final delivered cost $195, 808.00
• Apgar Ambulance
Final delivered cost $188,555.40
• Sawtooth Emergency Vehicles
Final delivered cost $182,000.00
Sawtooth Emergency Vehicles met or exceeded all of the minimum specifications as advertised and
produced the lowest bid.
RECOMMENDATION: It is recommended to award the bid to Sawtooth Emergency Vehicles in
the amount of $182,000.00.
ACTION REQUESTED: Motion to award the bid for one (1) Ford F-450 Type I Ambulance to
Sawtooth Emergency Vehicles in the amount of $182,000.00
FISCAL EFFECTS: The purchase of the Ford F-450 Type I ambulance will be funded by The
Ambulance Fund line item 2230-440-420730-943 labeled as Ambulance. A total of $190,000 was
budgeted in fiscal year 19/20 for the purchase of a Type I ambulance.
ALTERNATIVES: As suggested and approved by the City Council.
